Description

Houston only appeared in Houston a handful of times - as befitting a perfomer of her vocal stature, only at arenas and amphitheaters. Her first concert here came as opener for Luther Vandross at the Summit in August 1985. She was 22 years old at the time, a freshly minted star thanks to her brand-new debut album, Whitney Houston. The footage presented here of the show later became a popular Internet clip. The live sound was mixed by Lance Jackson FOH, Chris Lander Moniitor Mix.
